Delete Data

This page explains how Octidy users can request deletion of some data without deleting their entire account.
1. How to Request Data Deletion
You can request partial data deletion in either of these ways:
- In-app: use the relevant deletion action in app settings (examples below).
- Outside the app (this page): email privacy@octidy.com with subject line Data Deletion Request.
For email requests, include your account email and a clear description of the specific data you want deleted.
2. In-App Data Deletion Options
- Task deletion: open Task Settings and use Delete task.
- House defaults cleanup: open House Settings and use Delete custom defaults.
- Profile photo removal: open User Settings and clear your profile photo URL.
- House-level administrative deletion: house admins can remove certain shared records, such as deleting a house and its related task data.
3. Data We Can Delete on Request
Depending on your role and the type of data, we can process requests to delete specific items, such as:
- Profile fields you control (for example, photo URL and related profile values).
- Specific tasks and task templates where deletion is supported by the app permissions model.
- Certain house-scoped configuration records created by users (for example, non-system defaults).
Submitting a request through this page does not delete your Octidy account unless you explicitly request account deletion.
4. Data We May Keep
We may retain limited data when required for legal compliance, fraud and security prevention, dispute handling, or legitimate operational integrity of shared household records.
5. Processing Timeline
After verification, we process eligible data deletion requests within 30 days.
