Terms of Use

Last updated: February 25, 2026

These Terms of Use apply to your use of the Octidy Android app and website. By accessing or using Octidy, you agree to these Terms.

1. Scope and Acceptance

Octidy is an evolving household collaboration service. These Terms apply to all users across app and website surfaces.

2. Relationship to Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and retain data. These Terms govern service use. The Privacy Policy and these Terms are intended to be read together.

3. Android App Terms

The Android app is the primary product surface, including sign-in, house collaboration, task lifecycle features, reminders, and points tracking.

4. App Eligibility and Accounts

  • You must be legally able to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction.
  • You must provide accurate account information and keep credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for actions taken through your account.
  • You must promptly update account details when they change.

5. App Collaboration and Visibility

Octidy is designed for group collaboration inside each house. By joining a house, you understand and agree that other members can view shared house data, including tasks, bids, assignments, and per-member default task values used for reward calculations.

6. App Acceptable Use

  • Do not use the service for unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent activity.
  • Do not attempt unauthorized access to any account, system, or data.
  • Do not disrupt service integrity, security, availability, or normal operation.
  • Do not scrape, overload, or automate access in a way that harms the service.
  • Do not impersonate others or misrepresent house membership.
  • Do not manipulate bidding, points, invites, or account flows for abuse or fraud.

7. App Content and License

You retain ownership of content you provide, such as task names and profile information. You grant Octidy a limited license to host and process this content to operate the service.

8. App Third-Party Services

The Android app uses third-party providers, including Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics), Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), and Google Identity/Credential Manager. These services may be required for authentication, synchronization, diagnostics, analytics, and supported ad features.

9. App Notifications, Ads, and Measurement

The app may run scheduled background checks for reminders and deadlines and send local notifications. Some app surfaces may show ads and use analytics and diagnostic tooling to understand product performance. Octidy does not sell personal or sensitive user data.

10. Website Terms

The website is an informational and support surface for Octidy. It includes marketing pages, legal pages, contact links, and account deletion guidance.

11. Website Acceptable Use

  • Do not attempt to disrupt or abuse the website, hosting, or delivery infrastructure.
  • Do not attempt unauthorized access to website systems or related data.
  • Do not automate requests in a way that degrades availability for other users.

12. Website Analytics and Cookies

The website uses preference storage and consent-aware loading for optional analytics categories. In consent-required regions, optional analytics remains off until opt-in. Outside consent-required regions, analytics may be enabled by default with user controls available in footer Cookie settings.

13. Availability and Changes

Octidy is provided as an evolving service. Features may change, be added, removed, interrupted, or discontinued. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, specific feature permanence, or a service-level agreement unless explicitly stated elsewhere.

14. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary, including for violations of these Terms, abuse, security risk, legal obligation, or platform integrity concerns. You may stop using the service at any time.

15. Account Deletion and Retention

Octidy supports account deletion in-app and through our external deletion resource: Delete Account.

  • In-app deletion requires reauthentication and may require leaving or deleting all linked houses first.
  • Outside-app requests are verified before processing.
  • Deletion requests are generally processed within 30 days, subject to limited legal, fraud and security, and operational retention exceptions described in the Privacy Policy.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use after an updated effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

17. Disclaimer

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Octidy is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from service use.

19. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where the Octidy operator is established, unless mandatory consumer protection law requires otherwise. Before starting formal proceedings, you agree to first contact us so we can attempt to resolve the issue informally.

20. Language and Priority

We may provide translated versions of these Terms. If there is a conflict between translations, the English version controls to the extent permitted by law.
